Donna's charity this year is Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kawartha Lakes - Haliburton Inc. This charity promotes and monitors long-term supportive friendships for children through quality relationships with caring adults. Jane and Jim from the organization spoke and encouraged our members get involved with the In-School Mentoring Program. This program matches a child between the ages of 6 and 12 with an adult mentor. They meet once a week for one hour during school hours with the purpose of raising the child's self-confidence and self-esteem.
