Anne McKinnon wins the Raffle Quilt

Our lucky Anne McKinnon won the Raffle Quilt!  It was so fitting for Anne to win since she graciously offered the use of her home as the "quilting site" during the hand quilting of this beautiful quilt.  So good deeds do pay off...

Esther Graham wins Viewers' Choice

For the second show in a row Esther Graham won the Viewers' Choice award at our Quilted Treasures Show.  Esther's hand quilted and hand appliqued masterpiece is called Butterflies and Flowers.  It really shows off Esther's amazing talent.  Congratulations Esther.

Ladies doing lunch at the Quilt Show

What could be better than having afternoon tea with friends at a wonderful Quilt Show.

Quilt Show Day 1

The crisp cool weather certainly helped send people to our Quilt Show.  The turn out was really good.  The quilting displays, vendors' booths, members' boutique, and tea room were, as usual, fantastic and busy.  With all the great quilt submissions it will be hard to pick the Viewers' Choice...

President's Challenge

The participants' creations for Donna's triangle challenge were on display at the meeting.  They were so well done and creative.  Donna presented prizes to the winners.  All of the entries will be on display at our Quilt Show.  This is yet another reason why you must attend the show!!

Kelly DuMaresq - May Speaker

Kelly DuMaresq told us her story of how scrappy quilts have become her passion.  Her trunk show was filled with gorgeous quilts all made from her scrap collection.  She also gave us hints on ways to utilize and store our scrap material.

The hints I liked were:
  • Cut your scraps into 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2", or 3 1/2"  strips or squares
  • Keep all extra 1/2 triangles
  • Check out www.quiltville.com for Bonnie Hunter info,  free patterns, etc
  • Use squares as leaders and enders.  This way you can sew your squares together as you  work on other projects.
Kelly's presentation was so inspiring....especially for someone who loves scrappy quilts!

It all started with Kelly's grandmother's quilt

This is my favorite
